Esztergom to Gyor

We got up  early ate breakfast and decided to visit Esztergom  Cathedral  and pedal across the border into Slovakia. The Cathedral was beautiful and well worth the visit. The ceiling is supposed to be the biggest painting ever done on one piece of canvas.
After leaving Slovakia we pedalled to Gyor. A very nice trip and for a country that many may say is backwards to Canada I can't believe the bicycle paths that are here. During the ride we noticed one of Bruce's tires was down to the inner core and we were at least 50 km from Gyor the first major town. Joe spoke with a local in a small village and low and behold there was a bike shop there. Unfortunately it was closed because everything closes here at noon on Saturdays. At least specialist shops. Luckily the owner was out back getting ready to do a motorcycle ride. He opened the shop, sold us two tires, we replaced them and we were back on the road. Lunch was a picnic along the road consisting of sausage, cheese, bread and beer. Beer here is cheaper than pop so with the amou

A castle at dusk.
nt of water we are drinking  and the cycling one beer is easily  tolerated.
Our hotel is again very nice but the wifi was overloaded last night and therefore very unstable. Read unusable. We had a great supper and then walked around the town square. There was a band on stage playing Irish music. It was very good. Heading down for breakfast and are moving on to Austria.
